Actor Dennis Hopper has become a chevalier Legion of Honor

American actor Dennis Hopper (Dennis Hopper) has become a Chevalier of French Order of the Legion of Honor, tells AP. The solemn ceremony Hopper highest award of France, awarded by the President of the republic for military or civilian Merit, was held on Monday in Paris.

In honor of 72-year-old Hopper Sinemateka (Cinematique Francaise) - Europe's largest Filmarchiv - prepared a special exhibit. The exhibition devoted to works of famous actor, played in such films as "Bespechny rider", "Apocalypse Now" and "Blue Velvet", will last from mid-October 2008 to mid-January 2009.
